Sarah Brownlow BSc RMT
Since completing her studies, Sarah has taken a variety of courses focusing on rehabilitation from traumatic and/or sports related injuries. Sarah practices myofascial release, Deep Tissue and basic Swedish massage therapy. She has taken training in treatment of pregnancy related orthopedic complications, labour support massage and is an Infant Massage Instructor. With these skills Sarah is able to help women throughout their pregnancy and after. She will be offering seminars in Comfort Measures during Labour for interested clients here at CHP starting in 2007. Sarah has had many opportunities to help individuals with massage. She works with the Pediatric Palliative Care Dept at the IWK and has volunteered at The Sunshine Room at the QEII. She has massaged at several sporting events such as the Olympic Curling Trials, Skate Canada, under-19 Basketball Worlds and various Provincial and National level competitions. She has worked with athletes of all levels and sports including swimming, paddling and running to say the least. She has massaged at Olympic training camps and worked with the Halifax Mooseheads over her career. Sarah has been a resident of Dartmouth for most of her life. She spent 3 years in the Naval Reserves in the early 90’s and has worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor at facilities throughout HRM. She was a coach with the Dartmouth Crusaders and Dartmouth Whalers Swim Clubs for many years. She is an active member with MTANS- the governing body for massage therapists and is the chair of the Examination and Education Standards Committee.
